BRENNAN MITROLKA
PRODUCER, ENGINEER, MIXER
Brennan Mitrolka is a recording and mixing engineer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who’s been working at Transient since 2021.
Brennan grew up in Western Massachusetts, where he started learning the saxophone at 7, playing every style of music available to him, and adding other instruments along the way. He left to get a degree in Music from Skidmore College, where he studied music technology, composition, and saxophone. He then moved to Chicago in 2018. His professional background before Transient was mainly in live music - notably at The Chelsea Music Festival in New York and at The Elbo Room in Chicago.
At Transient, Brennan handles a wide variety of sessions. He’s tracked everything from opera vocals to 20-piece brass bands. His mixing projects have included jazz, hip-hop, indie rock, and more. He also knows the gear inside and out, assisting Steve, Vijay, and many outside engineers renting the space. He prides himself on the variety of his experience and taste, and applying them to help every client sound their best.
It’s been his pleasure to work with Chicago legends, award-winning artists, and talented professionals from around the world. He has credits on major motion pictures, NPR broadcasts, and many of the projects to come out of the studio since his arrival.
